In Home Newborn Photography

Coming home from the hospital with this new bundle of joy can be a big undertaking. You are up all day and all night, taking care of their every need and showering them with your incredible love. Taking photos of your newborn in the comfort of your own home provides a great experience for you and your loved ones.

First, you don’t need to leave the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to worry about getting baby ready to head out the door if you’d prefer to just stay inside the coziness of your home.

Second, you can photograph baby being held in the arms of mom, dad, siblings, or even grandma & grandpa. If you have a fur baby (or two!), it’s a great way to include the whole family in the photographs.

Third, you document the home how it was when baby came home for the first time. Time has a way of changing everything. Sometimes it can be hard to remember what their nursery looked like when they first arrived. Or maybe you end up moving one day. This lets your child see what their home used to look like when they look back at these images.

In order to have great indoor images, we just need to have access to a couple of important things:

• Light: you might pay attention to what time of day the light is hitting your room(s) the best.

• Locations: You only need 1-2 tidied spaces to photograph baby in – such as your bed, the couch in the living room, even a well lit hallway. However, it doesn’t need to be limited to just a couple of spots if you’d like to have more! You can even use the front porch if you’d like to document the outside of your home.
