The Bay Area offers a variety of stunning backdrops for cake smash photography. Whether you opt for in studio, a picturesque outdoor setting, or the comfort of your own home, selecting the right location is key to setting the tone for your session.

Cake Selection Tips for Cake Smash Photography
The star of the show, aside from your little one, is the cake! Choose a cake that is visually appealing and baby-friendly.
The cake’s design should complement the overall theme of the photoshoot. Whether it’s adorned with sprinkles, frosting flowers, or a themed topper, the cake should harmonize with the props and decor chosen for the session.
Due to insurance reasons, I no longer supply the cake. You could always reach out to a local baker for a custom cake.
Or for a more simple studio session, the naked cake from Safeway always works out great, with or without a topper!
I can provide a simple glass or marble & wood cake stand.
What to Wear
Choose an outfit that complements the theme and allows for baby’s freedom of movement:
Rompers or one pieces work great
Barefoot is best! Let their feet go bare, it’s so cute!
Bring a backup outfit for post session cleanup
Dressing mom is easy – borrow a dress for the session from my growing client closet

Get down on their level to really engage them
Let them explore, don’t force any expressions

Online Gallery Reveal
It’s time for the big reveal!
Once your images are fully-edited, we will have a reveal session, over Zoom or online. You will have 3 days to purchase the images/products that you absolutely love!
This is such a fun time of seeing the images for the first time!

Once your printed artwork has arrived, we will package it up beautifully. Now its ready for you to enjoy for years to come!
Frequently Asked Questions
The images will be ready within 2-3 weeks of the session.
For most collections, you will receive a minimum of 30+ photos from your session, but often sessions produce many more. You will receive all of them in color and select ones in black & white. They will be delivered via an online gallery and will come with a print release.
We believe your most treasured artwork will be of your own family! We don’t wish for your beautiful images to stay buried on a computer somewhere, only to be enjoyed on social media for a few moments. So every collection comes with at least a $100 print credit, so that you can get beautiful keepsake artwork of your family.
We know that things happen…little ones get sick, it’s raining outside, and other situations that are out of our control. We do our best to accommodate, and will be sure to reschedule. If you do not wish to continue with a session and have not given 48 hours notice, the retainer fee will be forfeited as that date could not be booked for another client.
Sometimes it’s easier to plan the family outfits around what Mom is wearing. We have a growing client closet that you can use, if you would like. We also provide a client guide that will help you to style the whole family.
